San Antonio, TX (September 20, 2024) – The YMCA of San Antonio launched its 150th Anniversary campaign ‘Uniting Generations’ and unveiled its plans for the Sesquicentennial celebrations in 2026.
The announcements were made at the Y’s annual Victory Celebration event at Valero on Thursday, September 19th, honoring the outstanding achievements of the Y community and celebrating the One Y Campaign funds raised to date that help provide scholarships for individuals and families.
The major announcement not only honors the Y’s rich history in San Antonio, founded in 1876, but it also looks towards the future and the community’s active participation in the many community events leading up to the 150th anniversary.
“The 150th Anniversary campaign offers a unique opportunity to be a part of something truly extraordinary. The YMCA of Greater San Antonio has touched the lives of over 3.5 million people in its nearly 150 years of service, and we invite you to join us in continuing this legacy”, said Louis Lopez, President & CEO of YMCA of Greater San Antonio. “Together, we have the remarkable opportunity to shape the next 150 years, continuing to Unite Generations across Greater San Antonio.”
